When Halloween organizes Christmas

Halloween is going great as always, after all, all the spooky residents of Halloween Town are giving their hardest.

But Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king, is tired of doing the same thing every year. During a lonely walk in the woods, he arrives through a mysterious door in Christmas Town, where the residents are preparing for christmas. Jack is intrigued and decides to take over Christmas. The other inhabitants of Halloween Town don't quite share his enthusiasm, but they let themselves be carried away by him; after all, he has always been their great role model. Sally, who is being held captive by an old professor and is secretly in love with Jack, is the only one who tries to stop him to prevent the worst - unfortunately without success.

So, to the best of their ability, presents are prepared and the real Father Christmas is kidnapped from Christmas Town so that Jack himself can fly off in his sleigh and give the children presents. In the process, it slowly turns out that Christmas is much more complex than originally thought ...

Part avant-garde art film, part amusing but morbid fairy tale, it is a delightfully ghoulish holiday musical that displays more inventiveness in its brief 75 minutes than some studios can manage in an entire year. (Los Angeles Times)
