"Girl You Know It's True" tells a true story about the producer Frank Farian and the discopop-duo Milli Vanilli, their rise in the 1980's and their fall in the 1990's. The members of Milli Vanilli started out as dancers, and with the help of their producer they rose to the top, landing several No. 1 hits in the US. Their success story ends abruptly when word got out that the singers were only lip-syncing, which came out to be one of the biggest scandals in the music industry.
Ein visuell beeindruckendes, enorm unterhaltsames und streckenweise sogar richtig witziges Biopic über die „Schuldigen“ in einem der größten Skandale in der Geschichte der Popmusik. Matthias Schweighöfer ist sensationell gut als stimmige Melange aus Genie und Teufel. (Oliver Kube, filmstarts)
