The 80s in Los Angeles: money, fame and rock 'n' roll!
Sherrie from Oklahoma comes to the city with the goal to become a famous rock star. There she meets Drew, a barback with the same dream, who finds her a job as a waitress at the Bourbon Room. The owners, however, have money problems that threaten the existence of the club. In order to combat these problems, the rock star Stacee Jaxx is booked. That night, Drew's band “Wolfgang von Colt” gets the chance to perform as the opening act.
But will this event be enough to save the club? Will it help Drew and Sherrie to become famous? And why is the religious conservative Patricia Whitmore leading a protest with the goal to shut the Bourbon Room down?
