In ancient China, the Shang dynasty faces turmoil when Lord Su Hu’s rebellion is crushed by Prince Yin Shou. Following the victory, the dynasty is cursed due to the violent actions of Shou's brother. To lift the curse, King Shou vows to commit ritual suicide, but this leads to further chaos.

The Immortals of Kunlun decide to bestow the Investiture Scroll, a powerful artifact capable of restoring order, but only if it is in the right hands. Jiang Ziya, a revered monk, is chosen to deliver the scroll. Joined by his disciples Nezha and Yang Jian, Ziya sets out on a perilous journey. They are pursued by Shen Gongbao, a rival alchemist, and encounter several challenges including supernatural threats.

Meanwhile, Shou's court is plagued by treachery and dark forces, with Su Daji, the consort possessed by a malevolent fox spirit, manipulating events from within. As Shou’s regime becomes increasingly tyrannical, a rebellion led by Ji Fa and the hostage-sons from Xiqi unfolds. Amidst the political intrigue and battles, Ziya and Ji Fa must navigate a series of confrontations to secure the scroll and defeat the forces threatening their world. The conflict culminates in a dramatic showdown that will determine the future of the Shang dynasty and the fate of all involved.
