Big Cops. Small Town. Moderate Violence.

With a 400% higher arrest rate than his colleagues, the idealistic London policeman Nicholas Angel is simply too good for the big city. To stop him constantly outshining his colleagues, Angel is unceremoniously promoted and transferred to the tranquil village of Sandford. Together with his new partner Danny, the son of the police chief, he now keeps law and order in Sandford by guarding church festivals and searching for runaway swans. But Angel wouldn't be such an outstanding policeman if Sandford's unusually high accident rate didn't trip him up.

In the course of his investigation, he uncovers the machinations of an unscrupulous vigilante group, including the police chief himself. In Sandford, it is customary to let minor and major troublemakers disappear from the scene in vigilante justice in order to preserve the idyll and especially the title "Village of the Year". There is more than enough room for the corpses in the dungeon of the local castle.

It's a perfect spoof of the once popular action genre, that's highlighted by the chemistry of Pegg and Frost. (Film Geek Central)
