5. Mai: One Battle After Another (OV)

Bob Ferguson was once an idealistic radical — a member of French 75, a scrappy underground outfit that raided detention centers on the U.S.-Mexico border and planted bombs in government buildings alongside his fiercely driven partner Perfidia. That was sixteen years ago. Now Bob is a paranoid, off-grid nobody, raising his spirited teenage daughter Willa in stoned isolation while the movement has long since fallen apart. The revolution, it seems, is over.

Then Colonel Lockjaw resurfaces. The same obsessive, menacing military officer who hunted them down before is back — and Willa has gone missing. With nothing left but paternal instinct and the frayed remains of an old network, Bob scrambles to find her, pulling together a ragged alliance of former allies across a darkly comic, increasingly dangerous America.
