Since the death of his wife, Otto no longer sees any sense in life. The neighbors can't even park their cars properly or separate their trash. Nobody knows anymore how to repair things or treat them properly. Everything has to be explained to them. Why can't anyone take care of these simple things in life? So he finally decides to be with his wife again. But just as he is about to join his wife, this new neighbor family drives by and their parking attempt fails just miserably. It's too painful to watch, so Otto has to go out and show them the basics of life. Can this new family warm his cold and grumpy heart, or has Otto already lost all hope of feeling joy in his life again? Join them in this hilarious tragicomedy!
This slice of superior schmaltz has Tom Hanks as a fastidious late-middle-aged grump who hates everyone, from overcharging shop assistants to neighbours who put their recycling in the wrong bin. (Times)
