“It's so fluffy!”

Who would have thought that it would come to this? Gru, the world's biggest super-villain adopts three young orphaned girls. Has he changed his general negative outlook on all of mankind? No, they are, of course, part of an elaborate plan.

A young villain by the name of Vector tries to steal Gru's title, and manages. Upon losing his title Gru's bank denies him the loan he needs for his next coup, stealing the moon. Gru has his trusty helper Dr. Nefario and a whole horde of small yellow potato-shaped minions. However, Vector is rich and not very easily tricked, but tries to steal the moon himself.

This is where the young girls come into play, with their help (and with cookies) Gru tries to break into Vectors fortress, because Vector has stolen an important item of Gru's moon-stealing plan. The girls, who were just a part of the plan, also want, apart from a bed and something to eat, attention and care. Gru hadn't calculated for this...

A frenetic 94 minutes of laughter, thrills and heart-warming sentiment. (Liverpool Echo)

More minions. More despicable.

After retiring from the super-villain sector and adjusting to family life Gru starts a new career path in the jam production industry. But when a research laboratory on the South Pole vanishes, along with a secret formula, the Anti-Villain-League recruit Gru to help them find who did this, whether Gru likes it or not. Gru's attention however, is more focused on his partner Lucy from the Anti-Villain-League and on his daughter's boyfriend choices.

With the villain on the loose, an interesting partner, and having to take care of his three daughters, Gru fails to notice the slow disappearance of his minions. Without his trusty helper Dr. Nefario, can Gru manage to find and defeat the villain? And where are the minions...

How do you tell a story about a bad guy who is no longer a bad guy? “Despicable Me 2” embraces the dilemma and adds new ones. (Dallas Morning News)
